Sure! We have a demo video that demonstrated just a few of the many features Clustur has. There is also an example account that can help you get a basic idea of how to organize content. If a picture is worth a thousand words, an example must be worth a million. Other resources are outlined on the Clustur help page.
Clustur is not like any other flashcard site. Instead of creating many unorganized stacks of cards, users organize their material with sets. You can think of sets like you think of folders on a computer. You can put one set inside of another set, to further organize content.
When your account is activated, Clustur automatically creates a home set for you. It can be accessed by clicking on your username in the header or by the links on your dashboard.
First, go to your home set (described above). There, you will see links that ask you if you want to make a new set or card and put it in your home set.
There is no definitive method for organizing your sets. After all, it's your account. There is, however, a recommended way to get you started. I find that the most efficient way is to create sets for your different subjects in your home set. In those sets, you can create more sets to contain more specific material. For example, if you needed to add some vocabulary for a quiz in German, you could use the following method:
First, browse to the set of cards you need to study. On the left sidebar, you will see a link that says "Study". If you click that, a new study session will be started. Included in it will be all the cards from the set you selected to study. Continuing on the previous example, if you studied the "Quiz #7" set, only the cards in that set would be studied. Furthermore, if you selected the "German" set, all of the cards from Quiz #7 and everything else you put in the German set would be included.
It is generally a good idea to organize cards by subject because it makes reviewing for larger tests and exams much simpler. If you need to review everything for the German exam, you can simply study your "German" set and you are good to go. You could also divide up your material by semester to account for semester exams.
When you study sets on Clustur, you are presented one card from that set at a time. Treat the card just like you would a real flash card. Think of the answer in your head and then click on the card face to flip it over. If you are satisfied with your answer, click the check mark to advance. If not, click the red X and Clustur will return to that card later. Once you have completed the first round, Clustur will give you a summary of how you did and ask you to advance to the next round. The next round will only contain the cards you missed. This process repeats until you have no cards left in the 'missed' pile.
Cards are sorted by the degree of difficulty. The cards that are harder for you will appear first while the easy ones will appear towards the back. Clustur can calculate a card's difficulty because it keeps track of how many times you have gotten it correct or wrong. The difficulty is known as the card's ratio, and it can be seen when browsing the cards in a set. There is also a bit of random sorting too, but it's not as significant.
Of course! Whether it's a quick snack or a 9-day vacation, you don't have to worry about Clustur losing track of where you left off. Everything will be there when you come back.
The dashboard is the main starting place for a user when they log in. It can also be accessed at any time by clicking the Clustur logo on the header. The dashboard will show you links to all of your favorited sets. It also lists your unfinished study sessions for easy access. Furthermore, it gives you links to your home set and lets you change your password.
Not yet, but we are working on one. You can still study on your mobile phone using the regular site, but it will not be optimized for the small screen.
There are many places to get quick answers to your questions. If you use Twitter, you can send us a message there. There is a link to our Twitter profile on the site footer. There is also a 'contact us' link on the footer. It lets you send us an email to team@clustur.com. Finally, we take support very seriously. We make a point of replying to all questions within one day. Usually it is even less.
